ANSWERED BEFORE
YOU ASK.
Twenty-two questions we get asked over and over. Anything not here is in the docs. Or just ask us on Discord.
MONEY, LOCATION, REFUNDS
01Where are your servers located?
Johannesburg and Pretoria. The hardware is ours, not rented, and it sits in South Africa. Your players aren't routing halfway to Europe to reach their own server.
02Are your prices in South African rand?
03How do I pay, and do you store my card details?
Checkout happens on our payment provider's site. Your card details go to them, never to us. We couldn't tell you the card number if you asked. A refund goes back the way it came.
04Can I get a refund?
Refunds are handled case by case, not by a fixed rule. Reach out and tell us what happened. We're accommodating, and if there's unused time on a plan we'll look at refunding it pro-rated.
The two things we don't refund: an account terminated for breaking the Terms of Service, and work we've already done for you, like a migration or a custom setup.
The conditions are on the Refund Policy page. Billing & Refunds FAQ covers how to ask.
05Do you price match?
Yes. Find a comparable plan for less and send us the quote before you sign up. We'll match it.
06How fast is support, and how do I reach you?
Discord is the fastest way to reach us. Email works too; both are on the contact page.
We aim to answer every ticket within 1–6 hours. If we're unusually busy, 24 hours is the outer limit.
The team is in South Africa. We've debugged servers through load-shedding, and we know which local routes go bad at nine at night.
07Do I need to create an account before I order?
No. There's no sign-up step. The account is made when your order goes through, and the server is built from it. The order form is the last thing you do by hand.
YOU'VE PAID. NOW WHAT?
08How long does setup take?
Minutes. Payment clears, the server is built, and your login details land in your inbox. Sign in to the Client Area with them, start the server, connect.
The long version: Order Confirmation — What Happens Next.
09I paid but never got the login email. What now?
- Check spam, and check the inbox you paid with, not the one you use for Discord.
- Nothing there? Open a ticket with the address you paid on and we'll find the account.
- Forgot the password instead? Reset it from the sign-in screen.
10Do I need to keep my own computer on?
No. That's the difference between a hosted server and a LAN world or "Open to LAN". Ours runs on our hardware in South Africa, not your PC. It stays up whether you're playing or not.
11Do my friends need to do anything special to join?
Nothing. No port forwarding, no VPN, nothing to install. They need the server address. If you've got an allow-list on, they need to be on it. Where to find the address: Connecting to Your Server.
WORLDS, MODS, BACKUPS
Day to day. Every answer here has a longer version in the docs.
12Can I move my existing single-player world to a server?
Yes. Zip the world folder. On Java it lives under .minecraft/saves/; on Bedrock it's the world's folder under minecraftWorlds/. Upload it in the panel's Files tab, then set level-name in server.properties to match the folder name.
Back up whatever is on the server first. It's one click, and you'll be glad of it.
13Can I run mods and plugins together?
Not on the same server software. Mods need one kind, plugins need another, and what's compatible with what is a page of its own: Choosing Server Software. Read it before you install anything.
14What happens to my world if I upgrade my plan?
Nothing happens to it. An upgrade changes RAM and CPU, not your files. The world, the plugins and your configs stay where they are. To change plans, talk to support.
15How do I change my server's name or MOTD?
There are two names, and people edit the wrong one constantly:
- The one players see: the
motdline on Java, orserver-nameon Bedrock, both inserver.properties. Edit it in the panel's Files tab, restart, done. - The one you see: a label under Settings → Change Server Details. Only you ever see it.
16Can I schedule backups and restore them myself?
Yes. Scheduling is on every plan. Set it, and restore whenever you like from the panel. Guides: Backups, Automating Tasks with Schedules.
17Can I give a friend access without sharing my password?
Yes. Add them as a sub-user instead of handing out your password, and set what they're allowed to touch. Adding Sub-Users.
18Can I use my own domain instead of an IP address?
Yes, if your DNS host supports the record you need. An A record works for Java and Bedrock both. Point it at your server's IP and connect by domain. The port still goes after it, same as with an IP.
19Can I work on my files from my own SFTP client?
Yes. SFTP is on every plan. FileZilla, WinSCP, your editor: whatever you'd rather use than the web file manager. SFTP Access, Connecting with an SFTP Client.
SOMETHING'S BROKEN
These three cover most of what goes wrong.
20My server is lagging or TPS is low. Where do I start?
Start with Fixing Lag and Low TPS. It shows how to work out whether it's the server, the plugins, or your players' own connections. If your plan is the right size and it's still slow, open a ticket and we'll look at the node.
21I can't connect to my server.
I Can't Connect to My Server covers it. Wrong address, wrong port, not on the allow-list, or a version mismatch. That's nearly all of them.
22My server won't start.
My Server Won't Start shows you how to read the console. Nine times out of ten it names the mod, plugin or config that's stopping it.
STILL STUCK?
Just ask. It's usually quicker than searching, and half these answers came from Discord in the first place.
